The Dance Factory was opened in 1992 by Mrs. Deanna and has been going strong ever since thanks to God, family, friends, and all of the wonderful dance families who have passed through the doors!! Mrs. Deanna earned a degree in Education from Western Kentucky University and is certified by Dance Masters of America, Dance Educators of American, and Chicago National Association of Dance Masters. A former Colonelette, Mrs. Deanna has taught Kentucky Standards for Dance at various schools throughout the Henderson County School System. She has served as the host teacher and local dance coordinator for the Moscow Ballet's Great Russian Nutcracker in 2003, 2004, 2018, and 2019 and has choreographed specialty pieces for several local schools. Other choreography credits include the Henderson Community Theatre's productions of Oklahoma, Hello,Dolly!, Anything Goes, Once Upon a Mattress, and numerous Junior Miss/Distinguished Young Woman talent pieces. Mrs. Deanna had the pleasure of working with South Heights Blazer Island teaching artistic dance to eager 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders in 2009.
Other fun and exciting things:
2010 - A special version of the Nutcracker was presented with a Christian message. 2012 - An episode of MTV's MADE was made in The Dance Factory.
2013 - Mrs. Deanna took convention classes from several of the dancers from the hit tv show "So you think you can dance".
2013 -2018 - Groups perform at The Harlem Globetrotters games.
2013-present - Groups perform at nearby competitions.
2017 - 25th Anniversary commemorated with Alumni performing at recital.
July 2020 - "Crazy Covid Recital".
March/May 2021 - Dance Factory dancers filmed and appeared in the movie "The Story of Mother's Day"!
May 2021 - Recital "And the Beat Goes On".
May 2022 - "30 Years and Counting!", 30th anniversary recital.
May 2023 - “Expressions” recital.
Summer 2023 - Fun camps and classes being offered!
September 2023 - Year 32 begins!!
